Women in leadership positions in healthcare
Program overview
The HCF Mentoring Program supports women leaders in healthcare over one year in tandems with experienced female mentors. It combines individual mentoring, targeted learning formats and a sustainable network to strengthen leadership skills, visibility and impact.
Main goals and benefits
- Career advancement: Strategic guidance, honest feedback and practical impulses for the next professional steps.
- Personal development: Reflection on the leadership role, strengthening self-efficacy and resilience.
- Network: Access to a nationwide network of experienced leaders in healthcare.
- Systemic impact: Support in shaping resilient and diverse leadership structures in healthcare.
Process & formats
The program works in individually composed tandems and combines structured 1:1 mentoring conversations with collective learning offerings:
- 1:1 mentoring: Monthly meetings (approx. 2 hours) in a confidential setting.
- Conferences & network meetings: Kick-off and closing events as well as regional meetups for exchange and networking.
- Workshops & trainings: Modules on leadership, communication, self-management, digitalization and other relevant topics.
- Peer formats: Virtual regulars' tables and peer-to-peer learning for continuous exchange.
Who should participate?
The program is aimed at women specialists and leaders in healthcare who wish to develop professionally and personally. Expected are, among other things, several years of professional experience and at least one year of leadership activity (disciplinary or lateral). Age and career stage are not restrictions; the offer is available in different program levels (e.g. Basic, Advanced, Sparring) tailored to various experience profiles.
Mentors & matching
Mentoring is provided by volunteer, experienced leaders from the healthcare sector; mentors receive preparation and are carefully matched so that tandems are based on trust, equality and well-aligned development goals.
Impact
Participants report noticeable development during the program: greater clarity in goal setting, more confident behavior in everyday leadership and strengthened self-care. Many remain active in the network and act as role models.
