FPH Mentoring (VŠE Praha)
A structured faculty mentoring program that pairs master's students and recent graduates with experienced professionals and alumni to support professional and personal development.
Who is it for?
Master's students and graduates up to 2 years after graduation
About the program
FPH Mentoring is a structured faculty program aimed at sharing experience, knowledge and inspiration within an equal relationship based on mutual respect and trust. The program supports the development of both professional and soft skills and offers opportunities for professional growth to both mentees and mentors.
What the program offers
- Individual matching between a mentee and an experienced mentor.
- Support for career orientation, development of managerial and soft skills, and discussion of entrepreneurial projects.
- Flexible meeting formats – meetings can be held in person or online.
Timing and pace
The official part of the program usually runs from January to October. Participant registration takes place in the autumn; after pairs are matched there is a joint introductory meeting at the beginning of the year. The recommended meeting frequency is about once a month, roughly 10 meetings in total, and pairs may continue their cooperation beyond the program if both wish.
Who the program is for
Mentees: students in follow-up master's programmes and recent graduates up to 2 years after graduation who are proactive and want to develop their career direction and personal potential.
Mentors: vetted FPH alumni with many years of experience (at least 7 years since graduation), as well as managers from faculty partner companies and other professionals cooperating with FPH. The mentor base is diverse—representatives of international, smaller or family-owned companies, entrepreneurs and people with international experience.
Benefits for participants
- For mentees: valuable lessons, help with career orientation, new insights into specific situations and inspiration for next steps.
- For mentors: the opportunity to share experience, connect with new people and gain feedback and ideas from a younger generation.
Participant experiences
Alumni and students appreciate the practical impact of mentoring, the chance to deal directly with real practical questions, the flexibility of meeting formats and frequency, and the fact that the mentor–mentee relationship supports mutual learning. Some describe mentoring as a pivotal experience for their professional and personal development.
