Programme overview
The Royal Economic Society Women’s Committee mentoring programme supports women in the early stages of academic careers in economics. It aims to provide tailored, confidential mentoring conversations that help mentees reflect on professional choices, plan career progression and address academic challenges.
Who it's for
This programme is intended for women in the early phases of an academic economics career, including researchers near completion of a PhD as well as postdoctoral and other early-career academics.
What mentees can expect
- One-to-one mentoring with more experienced economists;
- Guidance on career progression and professional choices;
- Support in confronting academic challenges and setting development goals;
- Conversations that are independent of immediate line-management relationships.
How mentoring is organised
Mentees are matched with more experienced economists who are outside their immediate line-management relationship, creating a space for open discussion of career paths and development priorities.
