The Academic Mentoring Program of the University of Bucharest supports the professional development of teaching and research staff at early or mid-career stages through individual collaboration with experienced university academics.
Program components
- Individual mentoring plan — mentee and mentor set concrete objectives and activities tailored to the mentee's professional needs;
- Regular meetings for reflecting on the career path and monitoring progress;
- Skills development — support for academic, teaching and research skills, and for career planning;
- Transfer of experience and building professional relationships that support long-term development.
Roles in the program
Mentee: a person at the start or in an intermediate phase of an academic career who defines professional development objectives and actively works to implement the mentoring plan.
Mentor: an experienced university academic who provides guidance, constructive feedback and shares good practices to support the mentee's professional trajectory.
The program promotes the transfer of experience within the university and the strengthening of lasting professional relationships intended to support long-term academic and research development.
