About the program
The Mentoring Program of the Faculty of Letters at the University of Lisbon supports first-year students through peers from more advanced years. During the first semester, mentors accompany new students to help them learn the Faculty's structure, organise academic life and resolve practical and academic questions.
What it includes
- Practical guidance on the Faculty's organisation and available resources;
- Support in managing academic life, including study routines and curriculum requirements;
- Clarification of doubts about procedures and academic practices;
- Social integration into the university community through peer support.
The programme is based on peer proximity and the experience of those already familiar with the academic context, favouring an informal and trusting relationship between mentor and mentee. It is relevant both for newcomers seeking orientation and for more advanced students who wish to share experience and develop mentoring skills.
