CFA Society Poland
CFA Society Poland’s mentoring program connects experienced financial-sector leaders with junior professionals to enable practical knowledge exchange and support career development.
Who is it for?
Members of CFA Society Poland — mentors and mentees
About the program
The CFA Society Poland Mentoring Program is an individual, relationship-based initiative aimed at exchanging experience, developing competencies, and building an ethical culture and trust within the finance community. Mentoring is seen as a space for dialogue in which both parties learn from each other and work on defined professional goals.
Roles of participants
- Senior mentor – experienced leaders holding key positions in financial organisations, who may not hold the CFA charter but have extensive practical experience.
- Mentor – often a CFA charterholder who shares knowledge and builds an expert profile; may also act as a mentee of a senior mentor.
- Mentee – junior professionals (including CFA charterholders) or individuals who, despite experience, seek inspiration and development under the guidance of more experienced colleagues.
Benefits
- For mentors: reflection on personal experience and expert value, satisfaction from sharing knowledge, development of soft skills, and expansion of professional contacts within the finance community.
- For mentees: access to practical knowledge and experience, clearer identification of strengths and weaknesses, support in formulating career goals, and development of leadership attitudes.
Collaboration principles and process
- The organiser matches mentor–mentee pairs based on participants' profiles and professional experience.
- The program recommends conducting a minimum of 6–7 meetings per cycle; regularity is suggested (at least once a month).
- Meetings should be face-to-face because of the importance of non-verbal communication, while new technologies may support continuity of contact and refine objectives.
- The key to effective mentoring is setting strategic/long-term goals and maintaining continuous, open communication between the parties.
Formal aspects
- Participation in the program is available only to members of CFA Society Poland; in the previous edition participation for members was free.
- Pairs are selected by CFA Society Poland according to established guidelines.
- In the previous edition, participants received certificates confirming completion of the program.
The program is intended both for those who want to share knowledge and experience and for those seeking inspiration and support for further professional development in the finance sector.
