About the program
The AGH mentoring program creates opportunities for meetings between students and university alumni who share knowledge and experience gained in the labour market. Mentoring is delivered primarily in a one-to-one model; each pair agrees at the start of their cooperation on specific development goals to pursue.
What the program offers
- Individual mentoring sessions — meetings scheduled by the pair, typically held regularly (at least one session per month).
- Career and advisory support — help in defining a career path, preparing to enter the job market and analysing development opportunities.
- A safe space — a place to ask questions, consider career decisions and test ideas.
- Substantive support and supervision — the program is supervised by accredited trainers and mentors of the European Mentoring and Coaching Council; training and materials are available for mentors and mentees.
What mentoring is not
- It is not a course for learning hard skills or instruction in specific tools — specialised training is better suited to those needs.
- It is not psychotherapy — a mentor does not act as a therapist and does not replace psychological help.
Form of cooperation and process
Candidates are paired through a matching process; mentor profiles are made available within the program, and pairs jointly agree on the schedule, duration and format of meetings (online or in person). The program usually begins with an introductory meeting and ends with a summarising session.
