Personalized academic and development support for SGGW students and doctoral candidates, delivered by experienced tutors and mentors.

Who is it for?

SGGW students and doctoral candidates

Personalized education

Personalized education at SGGW places you at the center of the learning process — it recognizes your potential and adapts teaching to your individual needs, interests and goals. The tutor–mentee (master–student) relationship requires time, trust and commitment from both parties.

Tutoring

Tutoring provides systematic support and development under the care of a Tutor; it is more than simple consultations and aims to support intellectual and personal growth. At SGGW two types of tutoring are distinguished:

Mentoring

Mentoring is intended for those who already have some experience and knowledge and want to accelerate their development through practical guidance and the support of a more experienced person. The relationship with a mentor is based on mutual trust and acceptance; the mentor acts as a guide and advisor in pursuing a defined goal.

Areas of support in the mentoring program may include, among others: publications and research, methodology, the academic and business environment, grants, university administration, ideas and projects, communication and presentation, and teaching.

Benefits

Who can benefit?

Students and doctoral candidates of the SGGW Doctoral School may apply to the tutoring and mentoring programs. The final decision to begin cooperation is made by the Tutor or Mentor.

Note: the tutoring process may, with the consent of the relevant Vice-Dean, be recognized as an elective course.
