What is the IT for SHE mentoring program?
IT for SHE is a program that aims to increase women's participation in the technology sector by providing individual support to talented female students in technical and scientific fields. The initiative has been recognized at the European level and awarded for its work on women's digital skills.
Who is it for?
The program is intended for female students in STEM who want to develop technical and soft skills, learn tools and practices used in international technology companies, and design a career path and leadership development plan.
How does it work?
Participants work one-to-one with an experienced mentor for six months; each pair sets individual goals and a work plan tailored to the mentee's needs. Support is provided by practitioners from leading technology companies, offering knowledge in technical and business areas.
- Format: one-to-one mentoring for six months, flexibly adapted to the pair's needs;
- Mentors: experienced specialists and managers from technology companies;
- Scope: practical programming skills, data engineering, cybersecurity, product management, UX/design, testing and automation, cloud and DevOps, Agile methodologies, communication, networking and career planning.
Benefits for mentees and mentors
- For mentees: faster entry into the job market, development of concrete technical and soft skills, increased confidence and industry contacts;
- For mentors: the opportunity to share experience, develop coaching skills and actively support diversity and talent in the tech sector.
Program in a broader context
The mentoring program is part of the broader IT for SHE initiative, which also runs volunteer projects for children and youth, training for educators and a student camp (Women in Tech Camp), creating an integrated support ecosystem for women in technology.
Note: the program regularly cooperates with partners from the technology sector and occasionally recruits mentors and participants; recruitment details and current information are provided by the organizers.
