NHHs mentorprogram for masterstudenter
Six-month mentorship program pairing NHH master's students with experienced alumni for career guidance, networking, and personal development.
Who is it for?
Master's students at NHH
About the program
NHH's mentor program pairs master's students with NHH alumni for a six-month guidance period spanning two semesters. Pairs agree on the frequency and format of meetings themselves, and the program combines individual mentoring with joint digital and in-person gatherings.
What you get as a mentee
- Guidance from an experienced alumnus on career choices and working life
- Opportunity to discuss job search, interview techniques and career paths (for example consulting, startups or the corporate sector)
- Practical tools and methods presented in shared Master Classes and seminars
- Networking and insight into employer expectations
Roles and expectations
As a student you choose which topics to address; the mentor's role is to guide and help you make better decisions, not to set your goals. Mentors typically have practical work experience and also contribute perspectives useful for leadership development.
Practical implementation
- The program runs over two semesters (approximately six months) and includes both individual meetings and shared events.
- Shared gatherings are offered both digitally and in person; some of the professional sessions are conducted in English.
- Students are expected to be enrolled as master's students for both semesters; in the autumn semester students should be present at NHH, while the spring semester can be followed digitally during study abroad.
- Matches are made based on several criteria, with the student's academic preferences and the mentor's expertise given the most weight.
Who can be a mentor?
Mentors are former NHH students with relevant work experience (the program assumes the mentor has at least one year of work experience after completing their education). Many mentors participate to give back, encounter new perspectives and develop their own leadership skills.
Typical joint activities
- Kick-off and closing events with professional programs and social activities
- Master Class with tools and methods from NHH and partners
- Midterm seminars and digital follow-ups
The program is suitable for master's students seeking active career guidance, networking and practical insight from experienced alumni.
