Who is it for?

People with disabilities

About the program

Sunnaasstiftelsen's mentor program focuses on personal development and raising awareness of one's own strengths. It is based on the idea that lived experience from people living with injury or illness can be an important complement to medical rehabilitation. The program addresses a concrete need during the transition from hospital treatment to everyday life, where many experience less follow-up than necessary.

How the program works

The training combines theory, practical exercises and exchange of experiences to develop mentoring skills. Participants receive instruction in key topics through both internal and external resources, and apply their knowledge during practical placements linked to Sunnaasstiftelsen's projects.

Objectives

Mentor Yng

The program also includes Mentor Yng, an adapted version for young people aged 13 to 20 with brain or spinal cord injury. Participants receive age-appropriate training and have specific responsibility for follow-up of children and young people in relevant projects, where support from people with a similar frame of reference is important.

Sunnaasstiftelsen's mentor program is aimed both at those who need everyday support and at those who wish to develop as role models and valuable contributors in rehabilitation and care work.
