Who is it for?
Young pharmacists and recent graduates
About the program
NFS Mentorprogram is a mentoring initiative run by the Norwegian Pharmaceutical Society, developed and operated since 2010. The program matches young or recently graduated pharmacists with experienced colleagues who share insight, experience and networks to support professional and career development.
What does the mentoring scheme offer?
- Personal sparring on job choices, career paths and professional development.
- Opportunity to explore alternative fields of work and gain insight into the Norwegian pharmaceutical environment.
- Support in handling workplace challenges, including conflict management and role clarification.
- Presentation of mentors and guidance materials for both mentors and mentees as part of the program.
Role expectations
Mentors are experienced pharmacists who contribute professional weight, integrity and influence, acting as constructive conversation partners for mentees. Mentees gain an ongoing dialogue partner who can help identify strengths, opportunities and next steps in their career.
Participant experiences
Participants report that the program increases confidence, broadens perspectives on career opportunities and improves awareness of personal qualities and suitable tasks. Many describe the mentoring relationship as providing concrete help to find direction in their career and increased motivation at work.
Who can participate?
The program is aimed at young pharmacists and recent graduates, but both newcomers and those with some work experience are welcome to participate as mentees; information and role descriptions are also available for potential mentors.
