About the program

Mentor Stiftung Deutschland is a non-profit organization that supports young people during the formative phase of puberty. Its aim is to strengthen self-esteem, responsibility and personal prospects through one-to-one mentors, school programs and parent coaching.

Principles and background

The foundation is part of the international Mentor movement, which was initiated in 1994 by Her Royal Highness Queen Silvia of Sweden together with the WHO. Mentor Stiftung Deutschland was founded in 2016 on the island of Mainau. The core of the work is a preventive approach aimed at preventing social isolation and opening up better prospects for young people.

The foundation publishes annual and impact reports that provide insights into programs, figures and personal voices from practice, underlining its focus on sustainable impact and the promotion of volunteering.
