A VOLONTÉ UNITAS social programme for young men leaving children’s homes, combining individual mentoring, case management, workshops, counselling and peer support during the transition to independent life.

Support during the transition to independence
I Can Be a Dad is designed for young men leaving children’s homes. It works with the period when participants are preparing for independent life, relationships and future fatherhood and aims to address limiting stereotypes before they become fixed in adulthood.
Individual support
- one-to-one mentoring and support from a mentor/case manager,
- an individual development plan,
- workshops and professional counselling,
- peer consultants and experience sharing.
Project period
VOLONTÉ UNITAS runs the project from 1 July 2026 to 30 June 2028. Mentoring is presented as one of the main tools of long-term support rather than a single standalone activity.
