A doctoral career pilot
Charles University launched a pilot mentoring programme for the 2026/27 academic year. It forms part of the university’s career support for doctoral researchers and creates an informal space to discuss professional direction with a more experienced mentor.
Academic and non-academic options
The programme is not limited to planning an academic career. It is presented as a tool for considering both academic and non-academic paths and for supporting a smoother transition into the early career stage after doctoral study.
Pilot timeline
- Mentor–mentee matching takes place before the mentoring relationship begins.
- Meetings in the pilot cycle are scheduled from October 2026 to September 2027.
- The pilot mentee call targeted doctoral researchers entering their third year in the 2026/27 academic year.
