About the program
NF Alumni Mentoring is a faculty mentoring programme that builds long-term professional ties between graduates of the Faculty of Economics at VŠE (mentors) and current students (mentees). The programme focuses on sharing practical experience, supporting career planning and developing soft skills in a friendly, structured environment.
Who the program is for
Mentees: students in bachelor's and master's programmes at the NF of VŠE who want professional guidance, practical advice and to develop their career potential.
Mentors: graduates of the NF of VŠE who are willing to share experience, meet with a student regularly (typically about once a month) and can hold in-person meetings on the VŠE campus.
How the program works
- Participants complete applications and mentoring pairs are matched based on the information provided.
- The first step is an introductory meeting, followed by regular individual collaboration between mentor and mentee.
- The programme is complemented by optional workshops and group events (for example speed‑dating, themed workshops focused on personal development, stress management, mindfulness, leadership, etc.).
- At the end of the cycle there is a closing meeting, an evaluation of the cooperation and issuance of a certificate of participation.
Benefits for participants
- For mentees: access to practical workplace experience, help with career planning, expansion of professional network and the opportunity to attend targeted workshops.
- For mentors: the chance to inspire the next generation, reflect on their own experience, expand the alumni network and contribute to their alma mater.
Format and typical activities
The programme combines individual mentoring with faculty events — proven formats include speed‑dating meetings, themed workshops led by external and faculty instructors (e.g. stress management techniques, mindfulness, team leadership) and mentor meetings for sharing experience.
Outputs: recommendations, practical tips for entering the labour market, development of soft skills and a certificate of completion.
