Mentoringový program pro studenty (Socide)
The SOCIDE mentoring program connects pupils and students (primary, secondary and university) and young workers with mentors who help them learn about a field, plan their development, and balance personal life with career goals.
Who is it for?
Primary, secondary and university students and young workers
About the program
The SOCIDE mentoring program is intended for active pupils and students of primary, secondary and higher education, as well as for young people who have already entered working life. The aim is to connect a mentee with a mentor who understands the field of interest and can provide practical guidance for further professional and personal development.
What to expect
- Real insight into the profession: understanding what work in the field looks like, employment options, and the demands on time and energy.
- Planning and self-management: improving the ability to plan study/work alongside personal life.
- Motivation and decision-making: greater confidence that your chosen path makes sense, or awareness of the need for change.
- Personal development: recognising strengths and weaknesses and practical tips on how to continue working on them.
Role of the mentee — what is expected of you
- Set aside time for regular meetings as agreed with your mentor.
- Speak openly with your mentor and listen to their experiences and advice.
- Ask about anything that can help you progress and try to accept challenges.
- Also be able to say “no” if it is too much for you.
Mentoring process
- Podcast: an opportunity to get to know selected mentors through interviews.
- Application: applicants apply to the program (mentor selection takes place on an ongoing basis).
- Matching: if you are selected, the organizers will connect you with the chosen mentor.
- Mentoring: the actual collaboration between mentor and mentee according to the agreed plan.
- Evaluation: a joint assessment of benefits and next steps after the mentoring ends.
Additional information
You can apply to the program repeatedly if you want to try a different field or mentor; however, organizers select applications continuously and cannot automatically guarantee selection multiple times. The program supports long-term personal and professional development and is suitable for those who want practical inspiration and concrete advice for further direction.
